Heart Attack, Cardiac Arrest, Sudden Death from GranuFlo

All of the wrongful death lawsuits filed against Fresenius stem from a NaturaLyte and GranuFlo recall that was issued in 2012, after it was discovered that a higher-than-expected number of dialysis patients treated with GranuFlo or NaturaLyte solutions were suffering from sudden cardiac death during or shortly after treatment. In the year following the recall, GranuFlo and NaturaLyte complaints filed in federal courts across the country were centralized before U.S. District Judge Douglas P. Woodlock in the District of Massachusetts for coordinated pretrial proceedings as part of a multidistrict litigation (MDL), since they all involved allegations that Fresenius failed to provide adequate warnings about the alleged side effects of GranuFlo and NaturaLyte.
